Pop Up Displays

There are several kinds of trade show display equipment that are available in the market. There are cabinets, shelves and platforms, but one of the most commonly used, which is also the most popular kind of equipment used in trade fairs, is simply called the “Pop up Display”.

Pop-Up Display, as the name itself implies, is a display which literally just pops up. It has two major components: the first is the expandable frame; and the second is the graphic display itself, which may be made of tarpaulin, fabric or even plastic. These are attached to the frame through hooks, magnets or Velcro strips. Pop-up Displays are very easy to assemble and equally as easy to disassemble and store away. Pop up displays are also very lightweight and even the largest sizes can be hand-carried practically anywhere.

The pop up display comes in several sizes. The smallest size is called the “tabletop display” and usually comes in 4 or 6 feet sizes. This kind of display is suitable for small areas and can provide a suitable background for smaller products such as hand held mobile phones, notebook computers, tech gadgets and similar items. The next size is the 8-foot pop up display. Slightly larger in size than the largest tabletop display, this piece of equipment is more suitable for larger booths. Some 10-foot pop up display systems come with their own set of lights, although it is best to consult with the supplier to see what suits your particular needs best. Finally, following this is the 10-foot pop up display. This pop up display is ideal for larger booths and is actually the most commonly used of all sizes. A 10-foot pop up display can not only adequately cover the back wall of a booth, but it also provides the perfect background for the main products on display.

The largest of its kind is the 20-foot pop-up display. Due to its size, having a straight 20-foot pop up display is not very common. The available shapes are serpentine (s-shaped) and gull wing shapes (similar to the shape of birds wings). Despite its size, even the 20-foot pop up banner is lightweight and portable.

Pop Up displays are fast becoming a regular fixture in trade shows and this can be attributed to the following reasons:

  • Cost Effectiveness: Pop up displays are very economical. The only materials needed for pop up displays are the wire frame and the graphic display. Should the graphic display no longer be needed or is destroyed by regular wear and tear, it will be easy and relatively cheap to have these graphics replaced with another set.

  • Maximizing display area: Whether it is a small booth or a large one, a pop-up display is bound to attract the attention of passers by through its eye-catching exhibition technique. A pop-up display effectively covers the rear wall, and at the same time provides a suitable background for the products being carried. In addition to this, even when the entire rear wall is covered, the pop-up display does not occupy much space in the front - thus giving the exhibitor more freedom to add more items to the mix.
